The Armory

The Armory is proudly owned and operated by a local Sonora family. Jenn and Doug Edwards, took ownership of the iconic building in Spring 2022. They previously owned and operated both the Groveland Hotel and Hotel Charlotte from 2012. Originally owned by Tracie and Doug Kennedy, the building was home to The Bourbon Barrel, which operated from 2015-2017. The Kennedys had an incredible vision for the space, and with support from many excellent local contractors, designed the build-out of the Bourbon Barrel, Beer Garden and Event Center. Now serving an efficient menu of upscale, perfectly-executed food alongside beer, wine, hard seltzer, hard kombucha, hard cider, canned cocktails, fresh margaritas, and barrel-aged manhattans on our roof-top patio and in our lush Beer Garden.

The Standard Pour is a casual restaurant that features craft beer, unique wines and a diverse menu. Located on the outskirts of Sonora, CA in the historic township of Standard, The Standard Pour is housed in the old Pickering Lumber office building built in 1924. Our menu has been created to be unique, fun and satisfying. We take great pride in our preparation resulting in flavorful, ingredient-driven dishes. Our Daily Specials Board offers seasonal dishes, often sourced from our favorite local farms and purveyors, capturing the beauty and bounty of what Tuolumne County has to offer. Our draft beer line up offers 19 craft brews ranging from Pilsners to DIPA's to Nitro Stouts and everything in between. A Sour or Hard Kombucha is usually in the mix as well. We love to support our local and California based micro-breweries as well as our neighboring states. We've created an eccentric, yet unpretentious and approachable wine list balancing classic and unique wines from the local region, greater California, Oregon, Italy and around the world. The Standard Pour showcases an inviting dining room with an open floor plan, high ceilings and simple décor. Our diverse layout has different seating areas for all occasions including multiple private rooms, a heated patio, and bar. Established in 2007, The Sugar Shack (in Sugar Pine California) is a regional leader for healthy menu choices. Offering healthy foods is a pinnacle part of the Sugar Shack's success. Some of the Blue Zones menu items include: vegetarian and vegan breakfast burritos, delicious fresh veggie sandwiches, loaded oatmeal, and our world famous smoothie bowls made with your choice of four different super fruits - topped with house made granola and fresh fruit. There are many options for everyone to eat healthy and be satisfied. Open daily 6 am - 2 pm. Breakfast and lunch is served. We try to source local produce when available and use only the freshest and most clean ingredients possible.

Functions of the County Office Support and Monitor Local Education Agencies The Tuolumne County Superintendent of Schools (TCSOS) ensures that school districts meet state and local requirements. It is responsible for reviewing, advising, and approving school districts’ budgets, interim reports, year-end financial statements, and audit reports. It approves local control accountability plans (LCAPs); provides differentiated assistance to districts who qualify; monitors facilities, textbooks, and instructional materials. Instruct Students TCSOS provides direct student instruction to special populations of students who need the unique support provided by our Special Education, Court and Community Schools, and Youth Services. TCSOS runs a highly successful program that serves the educational needs of students in foster care. Offer Instructional and Technical Support TCSOS provides instructional support to local education agencies in curriculum and instruction, assessment, instructional technology, program improvement, and preschool and child care quality improvement. TCSOS also provides technical assistance to support student performance and accountability, including LCAP development and differentiated assistance. Lead High-Impact County-Wide Initiatives TCSOS serves as an advocate for youth and education, raises public awareness of educational issues, and initiates innovative, high-impact programs to benefit Tuolumne County students, including Mental Health, Universal TK, Early Childhood Education, Career and Technical Education, and Immunize Tuolumne County.
